The mission of CSSM is:

“to take all necessary actions in the field of overall ship signatures and ship signature management in order to support the German and Netherlands navy in their role as ship design authority”.

In order to fulfill the its mission, the objectives of the CSSM organization are:

• to facilitate, intensify and expand close cooperation;
• to exchange information;
• to share and jointly create knowledge;
• to harmonize, coordinate, plan and evaluate Research and Development (R&D) activities;
• to establish a common knowledge database.
